BBC Share Your Story

CNS was very excited to have been chosen as one of the schools for the BBC 100 Share Your Story project as part of their centenary celebrations.

On Tuesday 8th March, the BBC visited CNS and delivered special interactive assemblies to our Year 8 and Year 11 students with the aim of encouraging them to tell their own stories to improve their well-being and confidence.

The assemblies were hosted by BBC Radio 1 presenter Sian Eleri and two ambassadors, Rosanna Skwarka and Amy Nomvula, shared their inspiring stories. Year 8 student Akshay also enjoyed sharing his video story, which he had made especially for the Share Your Story project, with the Year 8 student audience.

The project is being run to mark the BBC’s centenary in 2022 and sees the BBC touring secondary schools and delivering assemblies to 250,000 students across the UK.  It aims to bring a diverse group of BBC stars and staff into schools to share their personal stories of the setbacks and successes.   The tour, produced by BBC Children’s and Education, is designed to inspire young people to achieve their goals and help realise their ambitions.
