Bastille Day

The MFL department celebrated Bastille Day this week with activities taking place across a variety of areas.

Year 7s collaborated with History to create identity cards for key revolutionary figures, describing their characters and the roles they played in the Revolution both in English and in French.

Year 8 and 9 French groups have also been learning about the history of the French Revolution and the origins of Bastille Day itself and how it is celebrated across France.

The canteen put on French food this week for our students, and there have been screenings of Les Misérables for our students at lunchtimes!

MFL Subject Leader Mrs Fernandez said "It’s been a great week and we all got into the spirit of it, especially Monday when the department dressed up in “les bonnets phrygiens” made for us by Aafje Van Der Molen.

"Thanks to Clare Johnson for putting all of this together, and for everyone for getting involved!

"Vive la France!"
