CNS Duke of Edinburgh's Award Information & Launch Evening
Following another successfully completed year of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award here at City of Norwich School, students will again have the opportunity to participate this academic year. The programme is a real adventure from beginning to end and can be started by anybody aged 14 years or older.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a Charity that has been working with young people from all backgrounds for more than half a century. It provides young people with the chance to lead successful and fulfilling lives. The DofE is a nationally and internationally recognised Award favoured by employers and universities alike. Over time it builds confidence, dedication and commitment; attributes we all want to see in our young people in school, life and in the work place.
The DofE has three levels, the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Each level consists of sections including volunteering, physical, skills and expedition. The Bronze Award takes a minimum of 6 months to complete. Sliver takes a further 6 months.
At CNS there will be an opportunity for Year 10 to enrol onto the Bronze level, Year 11 & 12 (who have previously achieved Bronze) onto the Silver level and Year 12 & 13 to enrol onto the Gold Award.
We will be holding a parent/carer & student DofE Information & Launch Evening on Tuesday 17th September from 6 – 6.30pm in the Arc.
Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for students to complete an application form to apply for enrolment onto the Award. Places are limited and will therefore be competitive and will be offered on the strength of a student’s application.
