CNS students reach National Maths Final
A huge well done to our four students Samuel, Tim, Earl and Eve who were among hundreds of aspiring mathematicians from across the UK competing against each other on Monday 17 June to lift the prestigious winner’s trophy at the National Final of the UKMT Team Maths Challenge 2019.
The National Final of the Team Maths Challenge, which is run by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT), took place at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on Monday 17 June and involved teams of four students competing in a number of activities including hands-on maths problems, a mathematical crossword and a relay race combing physical and mental agility.
Over 1700 schools entered the competition and CNS were one of the best 88 who qualified to take part in the grand finale.
There was fierce competition from schools including Eton College, and out of the 88 teams our team ranked 57th overall, a fantastic achievement.
Mr Moss, Teacher of Maths said "Congratulations to Samuel, Tim, Earl and Eve. They were a huge credit to the school and worked incredibly hard throughout the day."
