Discover Your Voice Workshop

A group of Year 12 students enjoyed an oracy workshop last week called "Discover Your Voice".  The workshop was provided by the English Speaking Union, a unique educational charity and membership organisation that is dedicated to helping people realise their potential by giving them the skills and confidence in communication to articulate their ideas and share them with others.

As well as boosting students' self-esteem and competency in communication, debating and public speaking have also been found to impact positively on student attainment across the curriculum. 

During the workshop the group practised constructing and expressing arguments and developed their confidence in speaking to a group of people and defend their point of view. 

This was all excellent preparation for the future and potential careers where communication matters.
