EXiA team celebrate huge success at Shine Media Awards!
Congratulations to the EXiA team who won an amazing three awards and a Highly Commended at this year's Shine School Media Awards for its magazine.
The Shine School Media Awards is a national competition which rewards schools that produce an outstanding newspaper, magazine, podcast or website. The aim of Shine is to encourage an interest in print and digital publishing and to raise awareness of the skills and knowledge required by the media and graphics industry.
The CNS EXiA magazine was produced by a team of CNS students, headed up by sixth form student Mabel Lea, and it celebrates many aspects of the school and its culture. It offers a breadth of interesting articles covering topics such as film and art through to science and humanities.
The publication won Best Magazine and Best Print Design, and Editor in Chief Mabel won Editor of the Year. In addition, the team also received Highly Commended in Best Audio, for their podcast 'The Lion's Den - Your Mind Matters'. The awards are certainly well deserved. This year's magazine was exciting, and the work ethic that went into it from the 44 strong team, was incredible.
The awards ceremony, held at Stationers' Hall in London on Monday, was attended by Mabel and fellow Year 13 student Olivia (Design Lead) along with Miss Wilson-Parke, Teacher of English and Languages, who offered her support and guidance to the whole project.
Miss Wilson-Parke said "A huge congratulations to our EXiA team for winning the following awards at the prestigious Shine Media Awards: Best Editor in Chief, Best Print Design and Best Magazine. I am incredibly proud of your achievements, philanthropy and overall dedication to ensuring that your student voice is heard".
