Headteacher's Message, 10th November 2017
Last night we welcomed families from CNS and across Norwich and Norfolk to our Sixth Form open evening. The atmosphere was fantastic and parents and students commented on the warmth and enthusiasm of our staff and students and how welcome everyone felt. We are immensely proud of our sixth form which embodies our school motto of ‘Excellence In All’. The strong ethos of community and care, whilst being rigorous and challenging in all aspects of school life is modelled by many Sixth Form students who set high standards others can aspire to. This is why we encourage Sixth Form students to be visible in school whilst having their own spaces.
The size of our sixth form enables us to provide personal support whilst offering a wide range of subjects. Co-curriculum opportunities enhance the experience of being a sixth former as well as developing confidence and happiness for future life. We are also especially proud of the high quality specialist teaching and learning we can offer our Sixth Form. Having experienced CNS Sixth Form as a leader, teacher and parent, I am hugely proud of the breadth of curriculum, enrichment opportunities and the focus on independence that our Sixth Form provides.
Assemblies this week and into early next week have focused on Remembrance. The Last Post has been played in assembly and a minute of silence and reflection given, to allow students and staff to reflect on what remembrance means to them. Please talk with your children about the assemblies.
Last weekend was busy with family and swimming galas so I am looking forward to a calmer Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
