Headteacher's Message

Echo Message from the Headteacher 29th September 2017

This week, we appointed our Deputy Head Students to complete the Head Student team, with whom I will work over the forthcoming academic year. Six Head of House students put themselves forward for the role and Mrs Tillyard and I had the pleasure of interviewing all candidates. The interviews were quite remarkable in terms of the poise, confidence, depth of experience and passion for CNS that the students demonstrated. The decision making was so hard that we appointed all students to roles in which we believe they will excel based upon the strengths they presented at interview. Abbie Moore and Zachery Wright will work with me as Deputy Head Students while Posy O’ Rourke will be a Deputy Head Student with responsibility for social media. Mo Ferzazi, Rachel Durban and Robert Hunter will each be responsible for an area of student leadership with Mrs Tillyard. My congratulations to all six for showing the bravery and confidence to apply for these roles.

We are all looking forward to Open Evening next Thursday and having the opportunity to open our doors to prospective families. The strength of CNS, lies with the high quality and specialist teaching and support staff, whose care for students is shown in the relationships they forge and the high expectations they hold. As I show Headteachers from our local primaries around, they comment on the calm and purposeful atmosphere in lessons, as well as the cheery bustle when the school population moves around the site; we are very proud of our school community.

Thank you to everyone who attended the CNSA meeting on Tuesday. The committee do a fantastic job supporting the school community and ensuring additional resources can be provided for the students to enhance their time at CNSA. Chairman Nigel Chapman, echoes my thanks and together we ask that if you wish to be involved with the CNSA, please visit the CNSA webpage on our website or follow the link https://app.ptasocial.com/register/cnsa

I am looking forward to the start of the competitive swimming season this weekend with my son's club championships as well as some time to catch up on chores and reading. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
