Headteacher's Message, Friday 11th September 2020
Please share my thanks and congratulations to your children for their brilliant return to school! They have listened to the new and previous expectations and rapidly adapted to the changes. Our goal is to create safe learning environments whilst being able to deliver a broad, balanced and subject based curriculum. As we have reopened, we have revised some of our original plans to ensure the site is as safe as possible and I am communicating these via email and through the website. I am immensely grateful for your support and feedback during this time.
All year groups have settled straight back into learning with today being the first day of three (or four for Years 12 and 13) subject lessons. Teachers are ensuring students feel supported in the classroom and over the next few weeks they will be identifying where additional support or catch up time is required for Period 4 learning. I will keep you informed of Period 4 plans which will start this month.
It is a very uncertain time for everyone and school should be the safe constant in children's lives where they can confidently come to learn and be with their friends. It is my role to make sure this can happen for the CNS community and I have found watching the students return and revelling in being back very emotional. As a colleague said to me yesterday, ‘The school has its heart back.’
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend in the September sunshine.
