City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 13th July 2018

Rewards assemblies have been taking place this week with large numbers of students receiving Bronze, Silver and Gold positive award certificates. Students have hopefully shared their successes with you and students were celebratory of one another in their achievements. Kelling were the overall winners of the House Cup, donated by Old Boys, and there was great excitement amongst all members of Kelling House at their success; well done!

I have had the pleasure today of spending time with students in the top 20% of their year group for positives at a rewards celebration. The students were a credit to themselves, to CNS and to you and I hope they enjoyed the hot waffles and being able to socialise with one another in this way.

Last night, I watched the school production of Betty Blue Eyes, it was simply phenomenal. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you to parents and carers for your support in making it happen.

Year 10 begin work experience next week in a vast array of placements. Thank you to parents, employers and local businesses for supporting this invaluable week. Very few school have work experience for all students and CNS are immensely proud of being able to facilitate this opportunity. As term comes to an end for Year 10 can I advise parents and carers to encourage students to retain their exercise books as valuable revision aids.  Similarly, for KS3, exercise books will be taken home at the end of the year for students to keep as a record of their learning.

I am looking forward to a quiet weekend and I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
