Headteacher's Message, Friday 13th March 2020
It has been business as usual at CNS this week despite the difficulties we are all facing due to Coronavirus. Yesterday new guidance was published which will affect all families. As parents I ask that you follow Public Health England advice published yesterday and if your child has symptoms of coronavirus infection - a new and / or continuous cough and /or a high temperature, however mild, you keep them at home for 7 days from when the symptoms started. Please do not send your child in to be assessed by the school nurse if you are concerned about symptoms. If your child presents to the school nurse with symptoms identified by Public Health England as of concern they will automatically be sent home. It will then be the parent / guardian’s responsibility to determine if self-isolation is necessary. More details can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance
Please keep the Attendance Team updated if your child is absent and be reassured we will keep you updated of any changes to regular school activity primarily through the school website and with more detailed information early next week. School trips and visit will be assessed on an individual basis and parents informed of any changes. We have today been informed that all international trips are cancelled and further information will follow for these families.
In the meantime, we will continue with lessons and daily activity as planned aiming as always to provide a safe, happy and excellent learning community for all our students.
I hope you are able to enjoy your weekend and that everyone’s plans are not too disrupted.
