City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 13th September 2019

Last night we welcomed Year 7 parents and carers to CNS to introduce families to House Teams and Form Tutors. Being a big school brings many benefits in terms of specialist teaching and opportunities, however it is important that each child is supported and monitored, and the House system allows this to happen. Each House has its own team looking after the progress, attendance and welfare needs of each student, as well as the day to day needs of each student and their spiritual, moral, social and cultural learning. If you have any queries or concerns regarding any aspects of your child’s progress, attendance or welfare please do contact their Form Tutor or House Team for guidance and support.

Tomorrow is Heritage Day and we open our doors to celebrate 109 years of educating the children of Norwich; we are open between 10am and 3pm and everyone is welcome. Originally the school was a Boys Grammar School and in 1970 the school became comprehensive and female students were admitted from 1971. Many ‘Old Boys’ return each year to reminisce about their school days and we now refer to former students as Alumni to be more inclusive. If you are a former student of CNS, please do let Mrs Spurway (h.spurway@cns-school.org) know so we can include you in our Alumni.

I am looking forward to a warm September weekend and hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
