Headteacher's Message, Friday 14th July 2023
We have yet again welcomed lots of visitors to CNS this week! A group of educators from Madrid came to learn about the English education system. Their feedback included so much positive praise of our students and staff, and comments on the positive relationships between students and staff and the high-quality teaching seen. Our new governing body led by Dr Paul Hann also met with students from a range of year groups, and asked questions about their learning, co-curricular opportunities and behaviour and welfare. The students spoke with confidence, and presented a rounded view of school and what they enjoy as well as improvements they would like to see.
Last night we celebrated the success of Year 9 students nominated for subject and a range of school awards. My congratulations to all students nominated and awarded for their consistent hard work and effort across the year and the key stage. Ex student Posy O’Rourke was our inspirational keynote speaker, and the evening was enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone involved.
As we celebrated the end of one key stage, we welcomed our new Year 7 students to CNS this week with three days of superb transition activities. The students had a wonderful time in lessons, team building activities, assemblies and making new friends. Their Year 9 student leaders were superb, and the aim of ensuring students are excited about moving to high school in September was definitely achieved.
I will write to all parents next week with information about next term and I hope you have a lovely weekend.
