Headteacher's Message, Friday 15th November 2019
First may I extend my thanks to the sixth form team and maths and science teams who have coped with an immense amount of disruption caused by the heating failure in the Skinner Centre. I also would like to thank our students, particularly Year 12 for coping with the disruption this caused; we returned to normal yesterday, much to everyone’s relief.
Year 12 have had the first examinations of their A’ level studies this week and have shown immense maturity in preparing for these important assessments. Year 11 will be undertaking their mock exams in the next few weeks and again I am pleased with the maturity students are showing towards this. Exams place immense pressure on students who want to be successful, however we all know how important practice papers are in showing you where you need to improve, as well as what you can do well. Teachers and form tutors are guiding and supporting students through their exam pressures and if you have any concerns about how your child is coping please contact the House team.
Congratulations to all our sports men and women who have participated and competed this week in a range of sports.
I am looking forward to a family birthday celebration this weekend and I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you have planned.
