City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 17th May 2019

The sunny weather has brought warmth and cheer to students and staff this week. Year 11 have made a superb start to their GCSEs and have grown in confidence as the week has progressed. Other year groups have been showing maturity and kindness in their actions in lessons and in their co-curricular learning with participation rates incredibly high. The breadth of opportunity is due to the commitment of our students and staff; for example, on Wednesday evening the Rounders team were in competition with Notre Dame whilst the Green Power team were putting the finishing touches to the car they will soon be racing at Lotus.

Today Year 13 leave us to begin study leave for their A’ level examinations which begin on Monday. They are a simply brilliant year group who have always been keen to seek and grab any opportunity available. They set themselves a very high bar and have ambitious life goals which I firmly believe they will achieve and surpass; they are a credit to themselves, their families and the school and they will be greatly missed. I wish them every success in the forthcoming exams and understand the pressure exams can place on the whole family and remind parents to contact school if this is something we can support.

I am looking forward to a sociable weekend and I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you are doing.
