Headteacher's Message, Friday 17th November 2023

One of my favourite aspects of CNS and one of the things I am most proud of is the musicianship within our school. We have a long history of student’s enjoying music through the peripatetic lessons and participation in ensembles and orchestra as they move onto conservatoire and music degrees. This week our brass quintet visited Eaton primary school to work with Year 4 and Year 6 students, leading creative music groups with the children.  Students are also working hard in preparation for the Winter Concert which will take place on the 7th December; this is always an absolute treat and something I look forward to.

On the 14th December we will host our Christmas Showcase which celebrates wider performing arts from across the school, including our award-winning dance group.  Overall, it has been a very busy time for the Performing Arts faculty, with many training sessions and fixtures in a range of sports, as well as several visits to the Norwich City training ground where our students are lucky enough to make use of the superb facilities. These wider activities in which our students take part build lifelong passions, and for some a career path. The skills learned through sport and musicianship include organisation, resilience, discipline, teamwork and leadership, but most importantly they bring enjoyment and friendship.

I hope everyone has an enjoyable and relaxing weekend; I am looking forward to visiting the Sandringham Light Show.
