City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 18th October 2019

The half term has flown by and staff and students are all ready for a half term break. Autumn term is always a busy one, establishing relationships, expectations and routines as well as lots of school trips and events. This week alone has seen the following take place at CNS: a trip to Barcelona, Year 7 and parent Restart a Heart workshops, CNSA AGM, Iceland and Battlefield trip parent meetings, CNS staff development evening, Norwich Opportunity Area meeting, Norfolk leader training, Year 13 Drama examinations and a Taster Day for all of Avenues Junior Year 6. All this is in addition to our regular business of teaching and learning and is designed to meet our school vision of being a centre of excellence and pride in the local community and place CNS at the centre of educational development in Norwich and Norfolk. My thanks are extended to all CNS colleagues for the tremendous work they do in making all of this happen.

After half term we will be speaking with students regarding bike safety, as we are experiencing some road congestion and unsafe cycling before and after school. If your child cycles to school, please can you ensure their bike has lights and they are cycling safely as the winter weather and reduced daylight takes hold.

I am looking forward to half term and catching up with friends and family. I hope you have a good half term and enjoy whatever you have planned.
