City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 20th September 2019

Again we welcomed many parents to CNS this week, with a full auditorium for Duke of Edinburgh information evening and Year 12 meet the tutor evening. I am always delighted when families attend information evenings as it helps to build positive relationships and communication to support our common goal of ensuring your children have the best possible education and opportunities. Year 12 have made an excellent start to their A’ Levels and it was wonderful to be able to share this with parents and emphasise the importance of attendance to all lessons and the impact of effective use of study time. Thank you for taking the time to attend these events, especially families who were here for both evenings.

On Tuesday we also hosted the CNSA (City of Norwich School Association) AGM which sadly we had to adjourn as we did not have enough attendees for the meeting to able to run. The CNSA contribute a great deal to the school and as with all volunteer groups, the larger the team the lighter the workload. Over the years their fund raising has benefited our students in opportunities and equipment such as bike racks for the 6th Form, Green Power Eco Car competition entry, house t-shirts for new Year 7 pupils, sports equipment to use in clubs and Super Science Saturday. The new meeting date is Tuesday 15th October from 6 to 7pm and I will share more information regarding this with you nearer the time.

I am looking forward to a warm September weekend and hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
