Headteacher's Message, Friday 21st September 2018

It was wonderful last night to welcome so many of our Year 12 families to our Sixth Form Welcome Evening. The Sixth Form is its own community, with a caring and supportive ethos underpinned by high aspirations and academic rigour. It is also an integral part of CNS with Sixth Form students contributing to many leadership, tutoring and mentoring roles as well as being aspirational role models for our younger students; Arkwright Scholars Jack and Kalle are excellent examples of this.

It is our intention to enable as many of our students as possible to stay on at our Sixth Form as we believe the high-quality relationships and knowledge of our students will further their development and provide the best opportunity to progress onto their chosen pathway. To support this, CNS Sixth Form offers students a broad range of A level options and we also now provide technical L3 qualifications in some of the subject areas.

Sixth Form students benefit from the specialist facilities of a big school complemented by bespoke areas to support their study needs. I began my career at CNS leading the Sixth Form and continue to enjoy the energy, creativity and spirit that the Sixth Formers bring to the CNS community.  Two of my sons, one a product of CNS Sixth Form, return to university this weekend which will leave a giant hole at home. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
