Headteacher's Message, Friday 22nd September 2023
I am delighted to share with parents and carers that CNS has been shortlisted for three of the inaugural EDP Norfolk Education Awards 2023. We are finalists in the categories of:
- - Secondary School of the Year
- - Further Education Provider of the Year
- - Student of the Year
The first award is for a secondary school which demonstrates commitment to learning, inclusivity, social and physical development and work with the community, all of which are embedded at CNS.
CNS Sixth Form is nominated for the second award which celebrates post-16 academic excellence with an outstanding widening participation programme, both of which our sixth form excels in.
Mabel Lea, who completed her A’ levels this summer and is about to start her studies at St. Peters College in Oxford, is the finalist for the Student of the Year Award. This award is for an exceptional student who excels in the classroom and beyond as well as exemplifying the values of the school, attributes embodied by Mabel.
I am so proud that we are finalists in all three categories as it shows the breadth of excellence at CNS. Every member of the CNS community can take credit in being part of the recognition. The Award ceremony takes place on October 12th where CNS will be recognised for its ‘Excellence in All’ irrespective of the final winner. Further details can be found in today’s EDP.
It has been another excellent week at CNS with exemplary attitudes to learning and positive attitudes across all year groups. Well done to Year 13 who have sat their end of semester exams this week.
I hope everyone has a happy and restful weekend.
Jo Philpott
