City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 26th April 2019

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter break and was able to enjoy the Bank Holiday sunshine. Students and staff have returned looking refreshed and eager for the term ahead. This is a challenging time for Year 11 and 13 students as GCSE and A’ level examinations are now just around the corner. Head students reported yesterday that students are feeling supported by their class teachers and House teams. If as parents and carers you are uncertain how to support at home, please look at our revision presentations on the website here under the heading '2019 Revision Resources' or contact school for further support.

On Wednesday I went to watch Year 10 in the County Cup Football Final and was so impressed by the sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by the boys. The 6 – 2 victory was a result of their hard work, discipline, coaching by Mr Pratt and superb football skills. Congratulations to the boys and thank you to the support of families and colleagues on the night and through their cup run. Congratulations also to Hannah Cooper in Year 12 who was shortlisted for the National Beyond the Frame Competition and had her superb image exhibited at NUA in the holidays.

Thank you for ensuring students have the correct equipment and uniform for the start of the new term, please let the House teams know if there are reasons why your son or daughter cannot meet these expectations.

I can’t believe it is the weekend already! I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you have planned.
