City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 26th March 2021

As we approach the Easter break, I would like to thank parents for their continued support throughout this term. The period of remote learning was incredibly successful and the return to school has been positive for most of our students; it has been uplifting to see the whole school community back together.

Following my comments last week, I have spent more time with students continuing the discussion of how we can increase gender inclusivity at CNS. I am impressed by the positive action they want to take on this matter in the wider community.  Their wish to empower each other was taken forward to this morning’s form time, where examples of positive statements that can be used to challenge overheard or direct discriminatory remarks were shared. CNS prides itself on its inclusivity and being a kind and caring community and to see students leading this work is wonderful.

Now everyone has settled back into their lesson routines, after Easter, we will be refocusing on school expectations to ensure they are of a standard we expect at CNS. Our three P’s of being prepared, punctual and polite are not being met by all students and I welcome your support in achieving the expectations set out in a letter sent yesterday.

I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable Easter break and I look forward to a safe and successful summer term for all our community.
