Headteacher's Message, Friday 28th September 2018
This week, we welcomed Year 6 students from 2 of our Cluster schools for a taster day at CNS. The students experienced a variety of lessons and were a credit to themselves and their schools. Despite the demise of Cluster funding, the schools and Headteachers within the Norwich Central Cluster work closely and supportively together and value the common bond of educating the children of the families we serve.
On Thursday of next week, we will open our doors to families from across Norwich to meet with students and staff and find out more about the ethos, values, curriculum and teaching at City of Norwich School. This is an exciting time for students and staff, though it can be a little daunting for some parents who have not have been inside a high school since their own school days. To ease anxieties, we also have a series of Open Days, encouraging families to see the school in full working action. These are always popular, and it is reassuring to see how calm and purposeful the school is and to experience our caring and considerate community.
Following the closing of Governor nominations, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Bloomfield and Frances Anderson to the position of Staff Governors and Andy Campling and James Montgomery to the role of Parent Governors. I look forward to working with all our new and current governors and thank all governors, past and present, for the critical work they do in supporting and challenging CNS.
The CNSA will be meeting on Tuesday 2nd October at 7pm; please come along to the sixth form common room to find out more about their excellent work supporting the school.
All these events reflect how much all members of CNS value our community and aim to be a centre of excellence and pride for the local community.
I am looking forward to a quiet weekend in the late September sunshine and I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
