City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 2nd July 2021

We have had several Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions taking place over the last few weeks with a Gold Expedition taking place next week. I am delighted that the expeditions have been able to happen and student and staff feedback has been incredibly positive. The extremes of the British summer have been experienced with one group baking in the sunshine whilst another spent the entire time very wet. My thanks go to the staff team who have made the expeditions happen and parents who have supported their children throughout their DofE journey.

Year 10 students sat their end-of-year exams this week and Year 12 have their end-of-semester exams next week. The positive attitude towards these exams has been exemplary and the Year 10s were an absolute credit to themselves throughout the entire process. Students are very aware of the importance of school exams and assessment after the experience of the last two years, and I am very proud of the way they have managed themselves.

As the end of term rapidly approaches, we will keep you updated of information for September, including a revised emphasis on the wearing of correct uniform by all students.

As Covid cases are rising in Norwich I would like to reinforce the importance of taking lateral flow tests to keep the CNS community safe.

I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and enjoy the football if you are watching.
