City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 5th March 2021

As we move from one phase of learning to another, I want to express my thanks to parents and carers for all their support, hard work and patience in managing remote learning at home. Every family situation is different and many of you will have faced family disruption and frustrations, yet I also hope this was balanced with pride and delight in seeing your children learn and keep connected to CNS and their peers and teachers since Christmas.

The term has been like no other, with 100 children regularly in school and nearly 1700 receiving their learning online. All teaching and support staff have worked tremendously hard in maintaining learning and support for all our students and I am so very proud to work with such amazing colleagues. As we look forward to the return of all students, we are eager to resume business as usual whilst ensuring students and staff feel safe and supported. The phased return to assist with Covid testing will help this, and I suspect that by the end of Wednesday it will be as if we have never been away.

I have no doubt you will miss your children being at home next week but also be pleased they are back in school with their friends and teachers.

Thank you again for all your support and I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.
