Headteacher's Message, Friday 5th October 2018
It was wonderful to welcome so many families to CNS last night as we opened our doors for our Year 6 Open Evening. The evening was incredibly busy and the feedback overwhelmingly positive. I must thank students and staff for their warmth, enthusiasm and pride in sharing the excellence of CNS with our community. The displays and books available to see were typical of the work our students produce inspired by the subject passion of our teachers. Relationships between staff and students were evident in every room where they worked together as teams, speaking with Year 6 and many Year 5 students from primary schools in Norwich. My talk emphasised our broad and balanced curriculum, nurturing confidence and happiness, high academic standards and maintaining family values underpinned by a child centred approach to all we do. I was however utterly overshadowed by the wonderful Lathisha and George from Year 8 who spoke honestly, fluently and with confidence.
Community values has also been my theme in this week’s year group assemblies. Year group assemblies will now take place half termly and allow us to address learning and issues pertinent to each year group. The focus this half term has been how all members of our community can show our motto of ‘Excellence In All’ the CNS way; below is a slide from the assembly and if you have the opportunity please discuss this with your son or daughter.
I am looking forward to a weekend with friends after such a busy and exciting week. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
