Headteacher's Message, Friday 6th March 2020
All our students were involved in an incredibly successful Guidance Day on Wednesday. The day provided the opportunity for students in all years to receive guidance and advice on careers and age-related matters. A special mention and well done to Year 11 who used the day for English and maths practice exams. We hosted a huge number of visitors from the wider community, all of whom invested time and energy in leading interesting and engaging sessions for students. I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who contributed and to colleagues in school who organised the day.
Last night Year 9 students and parents attended an excellent Preferences Evening. I am delighted that next year we will be offering a wider curriculum choice for our students. This is to enable students to choose interesting and appropriate courses to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes, enabling them to access aspirational choices in the future. Our key message last night was for breadth and balance when choosing courses to ensure all future doors are open.
Thank you for your patience regarding the closure of the Branksome Road gate due to a fallen tree, we are working hard to resolve this matter as quickly and safely as possible.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
