City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 8th July 2022

I have had a wonderful week celebrating the success and excellence of so many of our students. We have had rewards assemblies all week, giving the House teams the opportunity to congratulate their students. This culminated today in ice creams in the paddock for students with high numbers of positives across the year. Well done to all our students receiving acknowledgement for their continual hard work and enthusiasm for school.

On Tuesday we held a Key Stage 3 Music Scholars concert at Christ Church Eaton. The setting was wonderful; my thanks to Reverend Richmond for kindly allowing us to use the church. The scholars were very nervous having been deprived of performance opportunities due to the pandemic. They rose to the challenge however and left us all in awe of their musicianship.

Wednesday saw the Year 11 Prom, with the hard work of Mrs Ellis and the Prom Committee being rewarded with an evening of making very special memories for everyone involved. We concluded the week of events yesterday with our Key Stage 3 Awards evening, celebrating the achievement and progress of many Year 9 students as they move towards their GCSEs. Congratulations to all our students and their proud families.

Finally, a special well done to Year 10 who have conducted themselves in an exemplary way throughout their exams this week.

I am looking forward to the weekend, especially the CNS Fest and will see many of you there. I hope you have a safe and happy weekend too.
