International Women's Day Football Tournament

Some of our Year 7's celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 at Norwich City Football Club's The Nest on Wednesday, joining girls from other local schools for a day of workshops and football action.

The workshops involved International Women’s Day-inspired team challenges focussed around inspirational female figures such as Lauren Hemp, Michelle Obama and Jessica Ennis-Hill with the girls being asked to think about what empowers them and why. During the morning, there were a number of guest speakers including former Norwich City Women’s player Emily Moerkerk. 

After lunch, the girls took part in a league-style tournament to compete for the 2023 International Women’s Day Cup and although they didn't make it through to the final, they did win their first game!
