MFL Bake Off

To celebrate European Day of Languages the MFL department ran their hugely popular MFL Bake -Off again this year. Students were encouraged to bake cakes which represented not only European languages and countries, but also countries with which they themselves felt connected to or had an interest in.

Once again, we were overwhelmed by the response and we saw (and tasted) cakes from all over the world. Our students worked so hard with entries such as Japanese Cheesecake, German Lebkuchen, Greek honey cakes and even cakes with colourful flag coloured sponge inside them. The standard and skill demonstrated was amazing!

Choosing the winners was almost impossible but we did just about manage it!

Our winners were:

1st - French tiered cake – Bailey Philpot and Anneli Brewer

2nd – Beautifully decorated cake with an accompanying information booklet – Kitty Evennett-Greenland and Alice Belshaw

3rd – Eurpoean flag cupcakes – Max Stam

4th – Vegan Danish cake – Daisy Cox

We’d like to thank all the students who worked hard to bake such fabulous creations, and we would encourage you all to not only keep baking but also to keep creating new ways to represent languages in new and exciting ways!
