Year 11 Post 16 Careers Day
On Thursday 31st October we will be holding a Careers Day, giving students the opportunity to find out more about a wide range of careers and the various routes of entry into a career.
Year 11s will find out more about the careers guidance website Help You Choose, from our Careers Advisor Jackie Hammond during assembly and will also be given time later in the morning to familiarise themselves with the site.
Following assembly, the students will attend three presentations that they will have chosen from a wide choice of subjects and that they feel are most relevant to them, from apprenticeships and trade courses, through to universities and potential employers from our region. If you wish to discuss these subjects with your child before they make their selections, you can see the list HERE.
Sixth Form students will be attending a presentation on the National Citizen Service during assembly to find out more about this voluntary personal and social development programme for 15–17 year olds.
Both Year 11s and Sixth Form students will also have access to the careers fair at some point during the day in order to visit and network with the exhibitors - a comprehensive range of visiting employers who will have information about the entry routes, skills and qualifications that these careers need.
We would like to encourage parents and carers to become involved in discussions about careers. If any parents or carers are happy to discuss employability skills and pathways into careers with our students, please contact Sharon Lester at firstname.lastname@example.org.
