Post-16 Information for Year 11 Parents/Carers
Dear Parents and Carers
We are approaching the time of year when Year 11 students will need to start completing applications for post-16 options. This can be a confusing process for both students and parent/carers. We want to help support you all and to ensure you come to us if you need help or have any questions.
During this week and into next for some groups, students have/will be given the opportunity to register on the website Help You Choose www.helpyouchoose.org . This is a Norfolk County Council information website for young people aged 14 to 19 in Norfolk. It is also an application platform for post-16 options in Norfolk. This is the application platform we will be using at CNS for students to apply for both Sixth Form and external providers. Please follow this link to a presentation where it is explained in a bit more detail:
As explained in the presentation, students will get time to register in school and to start completing their personal details on their account. However, you will need to carry on researching subjects and courses of interest with them at home. We ask that all applications are completed by the end of the autumn term. Again, if any support is needed with this, let us know.
Students will be given a hard copy of the following booklet. This should support the whole process:
Below is a link to a list of upcoming open events for post-16 providers. This includes information about the Sixth Form here at CNS. Please check individual provider websites to check how events will be running and to register.
