Students enjoy taster of life at university
A group of 30 year 12 and year 10 students visited Queens’ College Cambridge on Wednesday 15th March to gain an experience of life and study there.
They enjoyed a tour by a student guide who talked about the way in which subjects are taught at university, the role of lectures and specialists and how frequently students would be expected to write essays.
We enjoyed the visit to the library, seeing the variety of texts and resources available to us made the university seem more attractive to me. It conveyed a more detailed level of study and with use of more sources, which has given me more confidence that I understand the atmosphere there. The information regarding our personal statements was really helpful, I now understand how important it is that you include mention of the wider reading you conduct as proof or your passion within the subject.” Ellie Davis, CNS student.
We enjoyed our day exploring the College, learning about life and study there and also considering future applications.” Mr.Akroyd, Key Stage 5 Progress Coordinator.
