Women In Prison

With representations of incarceration becoming increasingly familiar through television shows such as Orange Is The New Black, Year 13 sociology students were given a sobering antidote thanks to a recent visit from the charity Women in Prison

An abolitionist organisation, WIP supports women at various levels within the Criminal Justice System and campaigns to introduce changes across all gender based provision.

In an informative, thought provoking and lively session, several course themes were vividly brought to life.

Mr Holmes, Teacher of Social Sciences said "Students were a credit  to the school, applying their sociological knowledge and impressing with their nuanced grasp of a challenging area.

"Thank you to Jodie for making the journey to Norwich and all those who took part".
